Low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to assist Southern California residents and businesses affected by the recent wildfires. Following the President's major disaster declaration, financial relief is accessible to businesses, homeowners, renters, and private nonprofit organizations in Ventura County. These loans, offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), provide funds for businesses to repair or replace damaged property, equipment, and inventory. Additionally, Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available for small businesses and nonprofits to cover operational expenses, even if they didn’t suffer physical damage. Homeowners can apply for funds to repair or replace real estate, while renters and homeowners may apply for funds to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.
Interest rates can be viewed and applications can be submitted online at sba.gov/disaster, and personalized assistance will be available at local Disaster Recovery Centers as they open. For assistance, contact SBA’s Customer Service at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Residents are encouraged to apply promptly to ensure timely processing.
