Make 2025 Your Year to Thrive
January 1, 2025
Financial resolutions can sometimes be unrealistic and impractical. Get in on a better trend: Easy Peezy Goals — One step at a time.
It’s great to aim high (building up a down payment, for example) but faster, easier and more successful goals are rewarding and inspire you to stick with them.
Here are a few easy ones you can start today:
Cancel one subscription
86% of people have paid subscriptions they hardly use, and according to a recent survey, the average cost of an unused subscription today is more than $30 per month. Cancelling even one unused subscription could save you hundreds of dollars a year. Think of your least used subscription and discontinue it.
Set up one alert
You use an alarm to wake up. Why not set one alert to keep up with your money? A lot of members set a daily alert inside our Mobile Banking app letting them know their checking account balance. Knowing this not only saves you money in possible overdrafts, but you’ll know in realtime of any suspicious or unexpected activity. You might find you love these alerts and set up others for balance activity, credit card charges and more. The more you know!
Sell one unneeded thing
That old couch in the guest room might be the perfect couch for a first-time homeowner. Declutter your home and add to your savings account by selling it using platforms like OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace and eBay.
Check one score - for free!
Make a commitment to keeping an eye on your credit score. This number affects so many parts of your life, from how much interest you pay, to whether you are hired for a job. Members benefit from our Digital Banking platform that displays your credit score every time you log in. And our team is here to help answer any questions or how you can confirm what is in your credit report. Check out this “How Credit Scores Are Created” article to learn more.
Pay off one debt
If you have several debts, it can be discouraging at how long it can take to pay them all off. It’s most beneficial and rewarding to focus on the debt with the highest rate, and make extra payments to it, while keeping current with the others too, of course. Paying off one debt completely energizes you to focus on your next one.
This year, skip the resolution list and make easy peezy goals instead. We look forward to helping you have a positive financial year.
